Our Heritage & Story
Beyond Morocco was founded to bridge international adventure travelers with authentic, unfiltered Moroccan outdoor wilderness led entirely by native guides.

The Genesis
For decades, international adventure tourism in Morocco was brokered by distant European operators who treated local guides simply as subcontractors. We built Beyond Morocco to turn that model upside down.
We are a team of certified mountain climbers, endurance cyclists, and desert nomads who grew up on these ridgelines. When you trek Mount Toubkal with us, you eat lunch at the stone house where our guide’s grandmother was born. When you ride the trails of the Dades Gorge, you pedal routes mapped by our team riders over twenty years.
No tourist gimmicks. No forced carpet stops. Just raw Moroccan geography, world-class outdoor logistics, and genuine hospitality.
The Principles
We do not contract through international tour aggregators. Our guides were raised in Imlil, Aït Bouguemez, and Merzouga. We know how the snow packs on Toubkal in winter and where the underground desert aquifers flow.
Every expedition is strictly limited to 8 to 10 guests maximum. This preserves intimate trail moments, avoids overwhelming Berber mountain villages, and guarantees personal safety in alpine terrain.
Muleteers, mountain cooks, 4x4 drivers, and assistant guides are paid significantly above industry standards. We uphold strict pack-animal welfare guidelines and Leave No Trace environmental ethics.
All lead guides hold official accreditation from the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism and Royal Moroccan Ski & Mountaineering Federation. Every high-altitude team carries satellite communications and trauma medical kits.
The Team
Every Beyond Morocco expedition is led by an officially certified Moroccan mountain or desert guide with a minimum of ten years backcountry experience.
